EditSkills for Resolving Interpersonal and Intergroup Conflicts
78
Controversy and conflict are inevitable, especially in turbulent social and economic times, but they don’t always have to lead down a path of frustration and divisiveness. This workshop will teach participants a process for addressing interpersonal and intergroup conflict in a civil and constructive manner.  Students will work together to define current controversial issues and explore the possibilities for promoting understanding and cooperation.  By engaging in this intense process, students will develop the skills needed to listen to others’ opinions as well as express their own, and establish the common ground necessary to move forward together.
